In 2010, ONERA has launched an internal reaserach project, ALBATROS, intended to investigate the potential advantages of strut-braced wing configuration for future commercial transport. This project involves detailed studies of the aerodynamics and structures of such aircraft configuration. It also includes multi-disciplinary optimisation activities.
