A novel analytical method, the fracture mechanics weight function method, for residual strength analysis and fatigue crack propagation life estimation for aircraft structures containing multiple-site-damage is presented. Highly accurate solutions of stress intensity factors, crack opening displacements and plastic zone sizes can be obtained by a simple quardrature.
