This paper deals with an agile missile pitch autopilot using L1 adaptive backstepping control. This paper is focused on the agile turn under the present of the aerodynamic uncertainties. To attain fast response, the angle-of-attack is chosen as control variable. The performances of the controller are investigated through numerical simulations.
