COMPOSITE SANDWICH PANEL BIRDSTRIKE TESTING AND ANALYSIS

A programme was devised to develop analytical methods to predict impact damage to composite panels from bird strike. Crucially, the analytical methods must be scalable to model large and complex structures. Testing and analysis was structured to capture both individual and mixed failure modes. Good correlation with test was demonstrated.
