THERMAL NON-EQUILIBRIUM EFFECTS IN RADICAL FARMING SCRAMJETS

The importance of thermal non-equilibrium effects in radical farming scramjets is investigated. For a total enthalpy of 4.17MJ/kg, temperature differences between equilibrium and non-equilibrium simulations are noticeable. Non-equilibrium simulations predict translational temperatures in hot pockets that are up to 200K higher than those from the equilibrium case.
