CATEGORIZATION OF UNRELIABLE AIRSPEED EVENTS USING RASMUSSEN’S HUMAN PERFORMANCE MODEL

Events involving unreliable airspeed were categorized using Rasmussen’s Human Performance Model to uncover where breakdown in crew response occurs. Results indicate the largest breakdown in human performance occurs in the understanding stage, suggesting that mitigation strategies for undesirable outcomes of unreliable airspeed events should be targeted to this phase.
