WIND TUNNEL AND CFD STUDY OF AIRFOIL WITH AIRBRAKE

Sailplane airfoil section equipped with an airbrake was studied by means of wind tunnel testing and CFD. Aerodynamic performance, pressure distributions and flow field development for different geometric configurations of the airbrake were studied. Airbrake deployment was featured by fundamental change of character of flow around the airfoil.
