APPLICATION OF COMPUTATIONAL AEROELASTICITY TO DESIGN OF HELICOPTER ROTOR BLADES

M. Righi

Keywords: helicopter aeroelasticity aerodynamics structural dynamics

Computational aeroelasticity can be applied to design of rotor blades. Accurate modeling of structure and aerodynamics reproduce the physics much better than traditional methods. This study aims at estimating the added-value of computational aeroelasticity against the complexity of fluid structure interaction and cost of high quality meshes.
