A human-in-the-loop simulation experiment evaluates the operational agility of an airborne self-separation concept to accommodate frequent and time-compressed trajectory changes without the performance degradation possible in current-day operations under similar conditions. This experiment supports a NASA research focus on functional allocation for separation assurance in 4D trajectory-based operations.
