Keywords: requirements emergence, performance degradation, load shedding
Highly modular architecting constructs require a means for managing architecture failure modes and generating requirements for critical sizing scenarios. These scenarios often include element failure modes. Functional induction provides a promising means by which conceptual designers can explore operational requirements and criticality, and frame system level component design trades.
