NEWAC researches new engine core concepts and lean-burn combustion. This paper describes whole engine and technology assessments undertaken, including preliminary design studies setting specifications and technology targets, and use of TERA2020 models for sensitivity and optimization studies including economic and environmental assessment of intercooling, recuperation, aspiration and active control technologies.
