Keywords: network design, airline schedule planning, climate impact
A network design model generating connections, flight frequencies and passenger routings from scratch is coupled with the simplified chemistry-climate model AirClim.
The methodology is applied to airline network design covering global transportation flows while considering the climate impact, leading to cost-efficient operational networks from an ecological and environmental perspective.
