Numerical simulation of flow-fields in large-scale arc heaters is performed, using Navier-Stokes equations extended to thermochemical nonequilibrium condition and being coupled with electric-field calculations. Advanced radiation and turbulence models are introduced for more accurate prediction. The particular concern is focused on the effect of these models on the heat-transport phenomena.
