An innovative technique, FLOW DEFLECTOR, for flow control of boundary layer separation on airfoils is present. The results of numerical simulation indicate that the flow deflector could delay significantly or avoid completely the boundary layer separation. The numerical simulation has been validated by flow visualization and aerodynamic force measurements.
