To meet the current demands for fuel/cost efficiencies, we relate/compare the operating efficiencies of Civil Aircraft & Military Transports (Jets, Turbo-Props). From a matrix of payload/fuel/range capabilities for the transports, variations in fuel cost ratio (of total costs) with range and comparisons between aircraft types is derived.
