This paper evaluates a variety of flight deck procedures for their compatibility with a Trajectory Based Operations concept, with particular focus on conducting trajectory negotiation via datalink. The results of two simulation evaluations in a 747-400 flight simulator with eleven flight crews are reported along with recommendations on how to implement trajectory operations using current flight deck equipment.
