Keywords: RNAV

Area Navigation Standard Instrument Departure procedures implemented at Dallas Fort-Worth and Atlanta International Airports have resulted in more efficient utilization of available runways and constrained airspace by enabling diverging departure operations. This paper presents model estimates of associated operator benefits as well as the results of extensive pre- and post-implementation operational evaluations. The results confirmed the expected operational changes associated with conducting diverging RNAV departure operations, validated user benefit estimates, and firmly support further terminal procedure implementation at other airports.
