Adhesively bonded joints offer many advantages over mechanical fasteners in composite structures such as improved stress distribution, corrosion resistance, mass and cost savings. This paper reports on investigations aiming at understanding their complex fracture behaviours and translating the findings into a fast design tool, capable of accurately predicting such mechanisms.
