Aerodynamic and aero-acoustic characteristics of tilt-rotors are discussed in this paper, based on studies done in the context of several European and national projects. Comparisons between measurements and CFD predictions are systematically proposed in order to assess the validity of the design and prediction tools used for tilt-rotors.
