Keywords: DamageTolerance,ProbabilisticAnalysis,Aeroelasticity

A probabilistic method for structural / aeroelastic reliability assessment of composite aircraft is presented. It enables damage-tolerance design, damage-tolerance and reliability substantiation, and optimal maintenance planning based on quantitative reliability estimates. Various failure mechanisms can be treated, including “Statics”: strength, deflection; and Aeroelastics: flutter, dynamic stresses, vibrations, limit cycle oscillations.
