An aeroelastic three-dimensional wing is parameterised via a domain element using surface and volume mesh deformation by radial basis functions, allowing optimisation that is mesh and solver independent. An Euler solver is combined with a modal structural solution to provide the aeroelastic solver. An advanced parallel gradient-based algorithm is used.
