This paper reports on active attenuation of natural Tollmien-Schlichting instabilities in compressible flows. The principle applied delays transition by using the stabilizing effect of a direct adaptive interaction with the linear disturbance waves initiating the laminar-turbulent transition process. This active wave cancellation method is based on the wave superposition principle.
