We measure the unsteady aerodynamic forces on a flapping wing in hovering to forward flight by using a scaled mechanical model. Comparisons of aerodynamic characteristics are made for two types of flapping motion: the rotational and the sinusoidal motions. The experimental data are compared with the numerical simulation.
