The 'OUTCAST' project developed and flight tested a hybrid Sense and Avoid concept with cooperative and non-cooperative sensors. The concept is based on mature and available technology which is feasible for 2010-2012. The results show the technical feasibility of the concept for a first step of introducing UAVs into airspace.
