Based upon a new biologically inspired airfoil, SG 04, numerical simulations for the case of coupled heaving and pitching oscillations were performed using a Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes solver. The numerical solution will be compared with experimental data from stereoscopic Particle Image Velocimetry.
