Six types of oblique shock-wave interference with shocks near cylinder are studied numerically and experimentally for hypersonic rarefied airflows. Local-pressure and heat-transfer coefficients on the cylinder surface considerably exceed (by a factor of 3.5) their values obtained without the interference. The strongest type-IV interference occurs only in continuum flows.
