The integrated development of fuel cell systems in addition with environmental control systems offers the opportunity for energetic optimization of aircraft system performance. The paper presents possible interactions between the fuel cell system and the ECS and analyses the possible integrated architectures in terms of fuel consumption and pollutant emissions.
