During pre-design, the focus is on fast investigation of a large number of cases and quickly changing configurations. DLR is developing a module for non-linear time-domain simulation based on a multibody approach. The model allows free-flight simulation of the aircraft including trim and manoeuvres. Emphasis is on flight load calculation.
