The paper presents a new method of flow control for an airfoil. A special element, called a slat-deflector, is located ahead of the airfoil leading edge with a possibility of revolving around a fixed hinge. That slat-deflector allows to obtain a similar lift and critical angles of attack as classic slat at higher performance ratio.
