A CONTRIBUTION TO PROACTIVELY PLANNING AND MANAGING AIRPORT GROUND TRAFFIC USING A STOCHASTIC MODELLING APPROACH

Keywords: airport ground traffic, decision logic, stochastic model

A model is presented to describe airport ground traffic with a view to apron controller decision support. Ground traffic controllers' decision logic is formalized. This is developed into a stochastic model, which takes into account the stochastic nature of traffic processes on the apron. This will ultimately allow a more robust capacity prediction of the airport apron.
