ON ICE BLOCKAGE OF VENT TUBES IN THE WING FUEL TANKS OF THE EPSILON AIRCRAFT

This paper describes a preliminary analysis of the problem of ice blockage of vent tubes in the wing fuel tanks of the Epsilon aircraft. This included wind tunnel experiments and numerical simulations of air flow and droplet trajectories. A number of scenarios has been considered and its consequences analyzed. Subsequently, recommendations for future work and a possible modification of the vent system have been made.
