COPING WITH WAKE VORTEX

The hazardous areas around a wake vortex can be approximated by the simple geometry of a rectangle or an ellipse according to aircraft pairing, weather dependent decay and available roll control power. Using specific controllers vortices can be passed through even if the required control power temporarily exceeds the available capacity.
