In July 2000 the European No. 1 Aerospace Company, the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) has been created. The merger of the French company Aerospatiale Matra, the German DaimlerChrysler Aerospace (DASA) and the Spanish CASA brought together after 30 years of close cooperation nearly 100.000 people working together now to meet the needs of the global civil and military markets for aerospace and defence products and services. As a consequence of this merger, the central research capabilities of the former single companies were also organized together in the EADS directorate of Industrial, Research & Technology. The presentation will give an overview on the European organization and activities of the EADS Corporate Research Center. The EADS Corporate Research Center is designed to provide expertise and synergies for the benefit of the EADS Business Units and Subsidiaries and works close together with the research capabilities inside the operative units. The EADS R&T Network of the EADS organizes the information exchange between operative units and Corporate Research Center, the research plan of the group, review of running activities and identification of new challenges. The main parameters of this R & T Network organization will be described as well.
