New AlMgSc alloys, developed for the Airbus A380, demonstrate poor formability at room temperature. At approximately 300°C, the properties of AlMgSc alloys do not deteriorate and after creep forming, spring-back does not occur due to stress relaxation. Manufacture of aircraft fuselage sections with these alloys combined with advanced creep forming technology is much more efficient than the traditional method.
