THEORETICAL, EXPERIMENTAL AND IN-FLIGHT SPIN INVESTIGATIONS FOR AN EXECUTIVE LIGHT AIRPLANE

Z. Goraj, A. Baron
Institute of Aviation, Poland

Keywords: spin, flight dynamics, flight test

Static wind tunnel tests, performed on the 1:3 scaled airplane model at high angles of attack showed that there were no differences between effectiveness of the rudder alone configuration (horizontal tail removed) and that of the full configuration (including horizontal tail). Three typical time histories of a spin entry, developing and recovery (among 256 performed for full scale airplane) are included into this paper.
