Keywords: airship, gust-loads, model building

Loads by gusts can be important for the design of semi-rigid airships. The Transport Airship Requirements contains an empirical equation, which determines the maximum bending moment caused by a 1-cos gust. To check the validity of this equation, in-flight gust and load measurement were performed using the airship Zeppelin NT.
