LOAD RESPONSE AND FAILURE OF THICK RTM COMPOSITE LUGS

Thick composite lugs were studied analytically and experimentally. The objective was to determine the structural behavior of the lug and to validate the analysis method. Measured strains correlated well with the analysis but failure loads were higher than predicted. The FE approach provided a reasonable estimate for the lug behavior.
