SIMPLIFIED DESIGN METHOD FOR A SYMMETRICAL WING-BODY FAIRING

A simplified design procedure is presented for the fairing of a symmetrical wing-body junction. It requires only modest computational effort, as the viscous-flow analysis is restricted to the calculation of the boundary layer development along the attachment line. With this method a fairing was designed for a NACA0015-wing on a flat plate, which was subsequently tested in the wind tunnel.
