Keywords: sst, inverse wing design, aerodynamics, cfd

An inverse design method using unstructured CFD is developed and applied to aerodynamic design of wings for National Aerospace Laboratory in Japan (NAL) experimental supersonic airplane. The method is the system of Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools, which are unstructured CFD and an inverse problem solver using integral equations. The advantages of the newly developed method are efficiency and wide applicability to complicated configurations of airplanes.
