THE EFFECT OF THE REYNOLDS NUMBER ON THE WING VORTICES

Wind tunnel experiments have shown that the vortex system of a delta-wing configuration with rounded leading edges, ELAC-1, depends on the Reynolds number. The purpose of this study was to examine the Reynolds number effect by using a Navier-Stokes flow solver with two advanced turbulence models, an explicit algebraic Reynolds stress model and a kapa-omega SST model.
