A computer based scaling and optimisation methodology has been developed to inrease and improve the available knowledge about an evolving aircraft project in the early conceptual design phase. Exemplified on an unmanned Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) configuration, the methodology is explained, and results of a first step-by-step analysis and of the subsequent automated scaling and optimisation modes are given.
