Keywords: clear air turbulence, prediction parameter, genetic algorithm
Clear air turbulence (CAT) is one of the most
influential factor in flight safety and flight
quality consideration. In this work we attempt to
simulate CAT wind velocities, invent 3-D
turbulence measuring and prediction parameters
(indices), and using genetic algorithm
(GA) to find the optimum escape trajectory.
Results show moderate success and it is hoped
that the concepts and techniques implemented in
this work could be used in future airborne
Doppler radar research and flight simulation
practice.
